Impartial survey proves: OneClinic provides benefits
Consultancy company Invinite Oy has analysed the benefits two major healthcare operators in the industry received by partnering with OneClinic Logistics. The targets in the survey were Finland’s largest healthcare laboratory company, Fimlab Laboratoriot Oy, and North Karelia’s welfare area, Siun sote.
The survey focused on the savings produced by OneClinic Logistics in the clients’ logistics operations and organisations. But it did not consider the savings generated by the departments. However, experience and previous studies show that the savings in departments are relatively greater.
The survey proved that OneClinic Logistics saves any healthcare organisations time, money, and work by making order and supply chain operations more efficient and inventory management more efficient. In addition, it reduces the number of ordering errors.
At FimLab, OneClinic Logistics has, according to the report, reduced the working time used for tracking orders and monitoring deliveries by 87 %. Order processing times have been shortened by 33 % and the time taken to receive deliveries by 20 %. The time needed to settle inventory balances was reduced by 90 % and the time required to approve invoices was reduced by 80 %.
In Siun sote, OneClinic Logistics has achieved similar results.
In Siun sote’s logistics organisation alone, a total of 8 people’s work input has been saved in connection with the system reform and the reform of production processes. However, it has been necessary to hire an additional person to maintain the system’s registers.
At the beginning of 2023, Siun sote’s logistics had an average of 53 people; at the beginning of this year, there were about 46 people. This means approximately 200,000 euros worth of fewer expenses per year.
The biggest savings came from automating the reconciliation of purchase invoices. 77 % of purchase invoices are already reconciled automatically.
The recent report only concerned Siun sote’s logistics organisation, and the benefits achieved in the departments were not investigated so closely. However, earlier studies (for example, Eksote 2015) show that greater cost and time benefits always occur in departments. In Siun sote, OneClinic Logistics is used by a little less than 4,000 people in different departments, whose working time the system saves.
Since the system brings savings in the same way in Siu sote’s other units and other departments, overall, it frees up a significant amount of working time.
