OneClinic Logistics succesfully implemented at Fimlab

Finland’s largest healthcare laboratory company Fimlab has put the OneClinic Logistics system into service at each one of their 120 offices around the country.

The introduction has happened in multiple stages throughout the year 2022. The procurement decision was made by Fimlab at the end of year 2021.

Fimlab’s logistics manager Jani Säynäväjärvi evaluates the introduction to the service and the entire project have gone according to plan and objectives.

”Of course, in this big project there are always surprises, but all of those have been resolved together with OneClinic. Altogether we have proceeded according to original plan and we also achieved the schedule goals that we originally planned for”, he says.

As the most important goal of Fimlab in this process, he mentions centralizing the company’s order-delivery chain in one system and gaining control better and more efficiently than prior. Inventory management has also improved. The system covers thousands of supplies, such as sample tubes, supplies and various reagents, which are being used for either sample collection or diagnostics. Fimblab has several hundreds of users for the OneClinic Logistics system.

The CEO of OneClinic, Veli-Matti Pietilä, was also very pleased with the project.

”Working with Fimlab has been really smooth and effective. We have proven together, how working together in cooperation leads to excellent results”, Pietilä comments.

Developing the system to fit the customer’s needs

Pietilä tells that they developed the OneClinic Logistics system to fit Fimlab’s needs. This way the system is a great fit for other laboratory service providers as well, and helps them to solve their own challenges in logistics. For example, managing and anticipating product shortage gets improved and with automation and mobility it saves working hours of the users.

Alongside, OneClinic Logistics enabled better visibility into, for example, product consumption, material costs and inventory values for Fimlab’s financial administration department.

Fimlab has around 1 200 employees and it serves approximately 1,3 million people. Its operating areas are Pirkanmaa, Kanta-Häme, Central Finland, Päijät-Häme and Ostrobothnia. The company’s customers include hospitals, health centers, occupational health care, private medical clinics and patients of private doctors.
