OneClinic’s logistics solutions hit the hot topics at the Health and Economics Days
At the end of August, the Health and Economics Days once again brought together the leading experts of Finland’s healthcare industry to reflect on solutions that will shape the future of the healthcare sector.
As expected, the key themes in most discussions and speeches revolved around shrinking financial resources, the realism of wellbeing services counties, and the challenges of creating value through administration. However, even though the titles of the speeches were somewhat discouraging, many presentations offered positive perspectives, tools, and methods that can enable and even implement a turn for the better.
In particular, generative AI, automation, and information systems that reduce operational waste, emerged as positive opportunities that – when used effectively – can genuinely improve the quality of healthcare and the customer experience.
OneClinic’s CEO, Veli-Matti Pietilä, considered this year’s event, organized by The Association of Health and Economics, to be particularly successful. “There was a strong feeling that with our logistics system, we are exactly at the very core of what the general attention at the Health and Economics Days was focused on. When better quality must be achieved with fewer resources, it is only possible by freeing up professionals’ time for the work tasks they are actually intended and trained for. Proper supply and medicine logistics eliminate an incredible amount of idle time in any healthcare organization,” Pietilä reflected after the event.
“This became clear in all the great discussions we had with both current and, hopefully, new customers that we met at our own stand and in the corridors and halls of Clarion Hotel,” Pietilä continued.
The Health and Economics Days 2025 were held on August 27–28 at the Clarion Hotel® Helsinki Airport. OneClinic participated with a larger team, which according to Pietilä was a good decision. “We had more time to attend lectures and take part in discussions in various forums. A truly high-quality event in many respects,” he concluded.
