OneClinic Ltd, operating in Oulu and Helsinki, Finland, is strengthening its position in the market for social and healthcare IT systems. The company has acquired 60 per cent of the shares of MyClinic A/S. The Danish company will become OneClinic’s subsidiary.
CEO Veli-Matti Pietilä of OneClinic says that the objective of the business acquisition was to combine the strengths and expertise of the two companies to create a stronger and more competitive business.
“Another important aspect is that we will now be able to significantly enhance our R&E,” he says.
OneClinic provides public and private sector social and healthcare service providers with software solutions that enhance their operations and make them more efficient. The company’s main product is the OneClinic solution, which is an advanced resource planning system for social and healthcare services. In addition, the company has the OneClinic Logistics solution for the management of logistic flow of medical materials and medicines.
The Danish MyClinic is the original developer of the OneClinic solution. OneClinic Ltd, formerly known as Nexamed Ltd, later launched the solution in Finland, developed it further and fine-tuned it to match the Finnish operating environment. The solution is extensively used in Denmark and it is also gaining ground in Finland.
CEO Pietilä emphasises that this business acquisition significantly strengthens OneClinic’s position in the Finnish markets, which are currently undergoing heavy turbulence due to the social welfare and healthcare reform.
“We now have a direct link to Denmark, which is considered a model country for the digitalisation of social and healthcare processes. The experience gained in Denmark will help us greatly here in Finland. We also have more leverage to promote our position in the Danish market, as well as in the international markets in general,” CEO Pietilä points out.
OneClinic employs a total of 25 people in Finland and Denmark. The company has recruited seven new employees in Finland during the last three months. According to CEO Pietilä, OneClinic now invests in strong growth and will continue recruiting new professionals to its team.
